They’re usually only a few bits of leather and metal, but somehow when someone with an experimental eye and someone else with a steady stitching hand gets together, they can create things that people start a frenzy over.
I have to admit I have had my fair share of being in a frenzy over a bag, and have succumbed to that desire on more than one occasion, and do I regret it? At the moment, not at all.
One of the most sought after bags of the moment is the Celine Luggage or Phantom. It was designed a few years ago when Celine was having trouble staying within the eyes of the young and fashionable, but Phoebe Philo turned the brand around as their new creative director and gave women (and some men too of course) a new item to drool over.
The bag comes in various sizes and a whole array of materials and colours. Due to my ridiculous love of red in all its shades and tones, I went on an unstoppable hunt for the burgundy version ever since I saw a women walking down Oxford Street holding one.
And I have to admit, I am beyond happy with it, the size is great, you can fit everything you need in it plus a jacket incase you’re going to be out and it might get a bit chilly later. I went for the softest leather option, which may not have been the smartest choice due to it’s ability to scratch easily but I am very much not a fan of gold and the drummed leather only comes in gold.
